Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elof Jurgs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abu Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgs comes to the cage accompanied by Swords of thy Elf. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elof Jurgs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abu Rock!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jurgs connects with a solid leg kick.
Jurgs takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jurgs throws a leg kick but Rock sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Jurgs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rock wants to get back to full guard but Jurgs has mounted him!
Rock taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Rock that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rock is looking to improve his position but Jurgs isn't that keen on the idea.
Jurgs scoring with strikes but Rock is staying in there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rock slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Rock has hold of Jurgs's hands but Jurgs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jurgs lands a nice short elbow.
Rock is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rock is trying to maintain the position but Jurgs is very close to passing his half guard.

Rock is staying active underneath Jurgs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rock manages to get to full guard.
Jurgs throws a strike but Rock rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rock looking to sit in guard and control but Jurgs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jurgs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rock avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jurgs content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Rock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jurgs manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jurgs has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rock has passed into side control.
Rock content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Rock throws a strike aimed at the side of Jurgs's head but Jurgs avoids it well.
Rock tries to advance to mount but Jurgs instead regains half guard.
Rock scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Jurgs gets full guard.
Rock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elof Jurgs dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rock looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jurgs!
Jurgs wants to control but Rock postures up.
Jurgs stops Rock from passing to mount.
Rock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jurgs keeps working.
A lull in the action here as Rock stalls from top position.
Rock is putting a hurting on Jurgs here, landing some big shots from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jurgs can't do much from the bottom here.

Rock working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

You can see the frustration on Jurgs's face as Rock controls the position.
Jurgs is looking for a sweep.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jurgs tries to buck Rock off but Rock is having none of it.
Rock just content to control the position.

Rock looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ground and pound from Rock seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jurgs tries to improve position but can't.
Jurgs taking punishment in the form of punches.

Rock gets to mount! Jurgs was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Rock misses with a head shot.
Rock with shots to the head and body - Jurgs looks very uncomfortable down there.
Rock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rock looking to ground and pound but Jurgs is blocking nicely.

Rock jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jurgs manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jurgs can't do much from the bottom here.

You can see the frustration on Jurgs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rock lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jurgs down.
Rock tries to advance to mount but can't.
Jurgs avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Rock.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Abu Rock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Rock gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jurgs to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jurgs slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rock throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jurgs escapes and throws Rock's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Rock tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jurgs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jurgs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rock keeps working.

Rock manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Jurgs throws a strike but Rock avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Rock wants to sweep but no luck.

Rock controls Jurgs momentarily but Jurgs frees himself.
Rock keeping moving, preventing Jurgs from controlling successfully.
Jurgs is really struggling to control Rock but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jurgs postures up in Rock's guard and throws a big left but Rock blocks it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rock is on top in guard.

Jurgs controls Rock momentarily but Rock frees himself.
Jurgs looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rock throws a big elbow that misses.
Jurgs trying to keep a closed guard but Rock is proving a slippery customer.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rock not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A clash of legs there as Rock blocks the low kick.

Jurgs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

And that's the end of the fight!
Elof Jurgs showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jurgs has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
