PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chester Greenburg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kain Gore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greenburg's entrance music is Party Like A Rockstar. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chester Greenburg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kain Gore!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greenburg jabs at Gore's body.
Kain Gore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Greenburg lands a right hook to the body.
Gore walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Gore gets a clinch.
Greenburg lands with a short shot to the head.
Greenburg lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Gore jumps guard.
Gore trying to control the position here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gore can do anything to dispel that myth.
Greenburg looking to sit in guard and control but Gore gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gore passes into half guard.
Gore with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gore seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Gore wants to pass to mount but Greenburg is defending the position.
Well, if Gore is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greenburg is trying to get back to full guard.

Gore is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gore works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gore scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Gore thowing shots but they're missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gore pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Greenburg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Greenburg can't escape the position.

Gore stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Gore is looking to clinch.
Gore moves in looking to clinch but Greenburg pushes him off.
Greenburg connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gore tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Greenburg counter with a right hand.

Gore shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gore is standing up over Greenburg. Greenburg looks to escape but Gore dives into side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Let's hope that Gore has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Gore throws an elbow but Greenburg slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kain Gore dominated that round.
That's time! Greenburg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Greenburg enables Gore to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Greenburg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Greenburg looking for a sweep. Not yet Greenburg, not yet.
Gore pushes down on Greenburg's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gore takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Greenburg blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gore.
Gore is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gore works his way into side control.

Greenburg is trying to get back to half guard.
Greenburg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gore on the ground.

Gore is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Greenburg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gore is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Greenburg will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Gore works to advance to full mount. Greenburg defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gore controlling his opponent.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Gore.
Gore thowing shots but they're missing.
Gore controlling the pace for now.
Gore avoids the attempt from Greenburg to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gore landing strikes from the mount.
Gore breaks from Greenburg's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Gore looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Gore tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gore is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gore thowing shots but they're missing.
Greenburg looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Gore slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kain Gore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Gore shoots in and gets a takedown into Greenburg's guard.
Greenburg is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gore content to stall in guard here.
Gore throwing strikes from guard but Greenburg blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gore drops back looking for a leg! Greenburg is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Greenburg manages to kick Gore off! Gore jumps back into Greenburg's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gore drops back looking for a leg! Greenburg is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Greenburg manages to kick Gore off! Gore jumps back into Greenburg's guard.
Gore slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gore shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Gore gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Greenburg dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Gore gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Greenburg struggles to land a body shot inside as Gore controls his hands.

Greenburg breaks the clinch.
Gore tries to close the distance and clinch but Greenburg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gore fails to land with a series of punches.
Greenburg was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Greenburg scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kain Gore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gore thows a leg kick but Greenburg checks it
letting Greenburg counter with a right hand.

Gore looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Greenburg tries to kick Gore off in order to stand up. Gore Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Gore is staying tight to Greenburg's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Gore is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Greenburg has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chester Greenburg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Greenburg is being controlled here.

Gore decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Good exchange - Greenburg coming out on top.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice uppercut lands for Greenburg. That snapped Gore's head back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gore dodges the punch combination from Greenburg.
Kain Gore is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Gore feints and as Greenburg raises his hands in defense, Gore changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chester Greenburg.
I think Gore has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
