Gain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Land down unda. Bruce Gain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Malaquias Teixeira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruce Gain!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gain needs to keep his hands up - Teixeira had a free shot at his head there.
Gain goes for a double leg but Teixeira avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Teixeira continues to drive forward.
A little feinted left hand from Teixeira on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A jab lands there for Teixeira.
Gain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Teixeira connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gain scrambles back to his feet.
Gain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Teixeira.
Gain fails with a takedown attempt.
Gain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Teixeira as he avoids it easily.
Malaquias Teixeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Gain.
Gain throws a jab but it's blocked by Teixeira.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gain gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Teixeira counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Teixeira is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Teixeira fails to land with a series of punches.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Gain.
Teixeira on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Teixeira tries to get out of the position.
Teixeira wants to get back to his feet.
Gain has hold of Teixeira's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Teixeira seems comfortable defending it but Gain has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Teixeira is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Teixeira is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gain couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bruce Gain!
A relieved looking Bruce Gain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
