Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Psycho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Omega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Psycho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Omega!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Psycho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Psycho stands up.
Psycho moves in looking to clinch but Omega pushes him off.

Omega instigates a clinch.
Omega tries to pull guard but Psycho holds him up against the cage and eventually Omega drops back down to his feet.
Omega wants a takedown.

Psycho has hold of one of Omega's legs. Omega is fighting the takedown attempt but Psycho gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Psycho stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Psycho closes the distance looking to clinch
and Omega makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Psycho really felt that one!
Omega misses with a takedown

and Psycho counters by moving into the clinch.
Peter Psycho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Omega.

Psycho has a couple of punches blocked by Omega.
Psycho stops a takedown attempt from Omega.

Omega breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Psycho wants to clinch
and Omega counters with a nice kick to the body.
Omega misses with the body kick
and Psycho counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Omega slips a jab and a cross from Psycho.

Psycho tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Psycho wants to control but Omega postures up.

Psycho is not content to let Omega control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Psycho lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Psycho wants to clinch

and Omega counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Psycho's guard now.
Psycho wants to sweep here but Omega controlling him for the moment.
Psycho is breathing heavily.
Omega throwing strikes from guard but Psycho blocks nicely.
Psycho wants to sweep but no luck.

Omega trying to control but Psycho is working from the bottom.

Psycho wriggles free and stands up.
Psycho closes the distance but Omega moves to the side
and Omega counters with a slapping leg kick.
Psycho clinches but Omega breaks the clinch
and Omega counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Johnny Omega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Psycho drives through and clinches with Omega against the cage.
Omega blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Psycho will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Omega scoring well with a low kick there.
Psycho swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Omega counters with a good low kick that Psycho was not able to check.
Omega has his takedown stuffed

and Psycho counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Psycho.

Omega is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Psycho is controlling him.

Well, if Psycho is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Psycho lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Psycho decides to return to a standing position.
Omega looks for a takedown but Psycho sprawls well.

Psycho closes the distance looking to clinch

and Omega counters with a single leg into guard. Psycho didn't expect that.
Psycho is trying to control the position but Omega postures up.
Psycho keeping moving, preventing Omega from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Psycho wants to stand up but Omega is controlling him.
Omega seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Omega stops Psycho from standing up.

Omega is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Psycho pushes Omega off and gets back to his feet.
Psycho is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Omega closes this distance looking for a takedown but Psycho circles away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Omega clinches up against the cage.
Psycho misses with a short punch on the inside.
Omega is pressed up against the cage. Psycho has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Omega down to the mat. Omega avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Omega shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Psycho counters with a single leg into guard. Omega didn't expect that.

Psycho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Omega controls Psycho momentarily but Psycho frees himself.
Omega lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Psycho!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Omega wants to control the pace but Psycho is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Psycho dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Omega with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Psycho stuffs the takedown.
Omega gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Psycho counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Left hook, right uppercut from Psycho.

Psycho closes the distance and clinches.
Psycho lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Omega backwards.
A head punch on the inside from Psycho fails to land.

Psycho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Psycho closes the distance but Omega moves to the side

and Omega counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Psycho avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Omega.

Psycho tries to get to full guard but Omega has control of the leg.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Omega is pressing down on Psycho's thigh, looking to free his foot. Psycho is holding on for now.
Omega tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Psycho keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Psycho pushes Omega off looking to stand but Omega dives back in and keeps control.
Psycho scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Omega manages to mount him!
Peter Psycho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Psycho slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Psycho kicks Omega off and gets back to his feet.
Psycho wants to clinch

and Omega moves into the clinch.
Omega wants to stall.
Omega wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Psycho wants to break the clinch but can't.
Psycho holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Omega fails to pull guard.
Peter Psycho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Omega.
Omega avoids the elbow strike from Psycho, against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Psycho.

Omega breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Omega misses.
Omega swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Psycho.
Psycho throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Omega counters with a good, hard body kick but Psycho shrugs it off.
Psycho tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Omega counters with a shoot takedown. Psycho fights it but they end up in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Omega wants to control from the top but Psycho keeps moving.
Psycho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Omega trying to control but Psycho is working from the bottom.
Omega looking to sit in guard and control but Psycho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Psycho trying to stand up but can't free himself from Omega's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Omega not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Psycho gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Omega fails to land the takedown.
Omega misses with a takedown

and Psycho holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Omega wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Psycho has him pressed against the cage.
Psycho stalls.

Omega successfully pulls guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Omega wants to sweep here but Psycho controlling him for the moment.

Psycho gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Omega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Psycho has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
