Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ross Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Lupo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lupo has chosen Redemption Song - Bob Marley as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lupo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lupo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kidd wants to stand but Lupo is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kidd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kidd has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lupo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lupo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kidd's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lupo wants to control from the top but Kidd keeps moving.
Kidd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lupo on the ground.
Lupo throwing strikes from guard but Kidd blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lupo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kidd is keeping the position for now.
Lupo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lupo wanted to stand there but Kidd had control of the position.
Kidd has momentary wrist control but Lupo slips an elbow through the middle.
Lupo postures up.
Lupo advances to half guard.
Lupo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kidd is in trouble now - Lupo has advanced to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lupo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kidd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lupo looking to isolate an arm here. Kidd doesn't see it coming and as Lupo extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Lupo!

Jimmy Lupo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
