Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Cameron Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clinton Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whyte comes to the ring accompanied by Caribbean Jamz. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cameron Whyte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clinton Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Whyte wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

and Whyte counters with a straight right hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A slow jab from Whyte misses its intended target.
Robinson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Robinson told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Robinson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Whyte here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Clinton Robinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Robinson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

As Robinson tries to get set, Whyte tries to push him back and clinch up but Robinson manages to avoid the attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Robinson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Robinson, right into the meat.

Robinson forces Whyte back against the ropes and clinches.
Whyte is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Robinson can do to turn this around?

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Whyte stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Robinson.
Robinson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Whyte backs up against the ropes.
Robinson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Whyte manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Whyte throws the left hand but Robinson avoids the punch easily.

A little feinted left hand from Whyte on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Robinson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Whyte throws a body punch but Robinson moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Whyte tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Robinson manages to circle out of the way.
Whyte is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Robinson.
Clinton Robinson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Whyte is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cameron Whyte.
Well Whyte has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
