The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Van Zyl.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hamilton tries to buck Van Zyl off but Van Zyl is having none of it.

Hamilton trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hamilton is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee asks Van Zyl politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Van Zyl prefers to stall for the moment though.

Van Zyl cracks Hamilton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Val Hamilton's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Val Hamilton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
