Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between CJ Saaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Norvac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saaim comes to the cage accompanied by Chelsea Dagger. Jimmy Norvac told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saaim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Saaim lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Saaim throwing strikes from guard but Norvac blocks nicely.
Norvac has momentary wrist control but Saaim slips an elbow through the middle.
Norvac wants to stand up but Saaim is controlling him.
Saaim throws an elbow that misses. Norvac uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Saaim's guard. Nice move by Norvac!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saaim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Norvac is looking to stand up but Saaim won't let him.

Norvac wants to stand but Saaim has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Saaim on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saaim tries to get out of the position.

Saaim seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jimmy Norvac is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Norvac fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saaim manages to avoid it.
Saaim goes for a double leg but Norvac avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Norvac continues to drive forward.
Saaim tries for a takedown but Norvac sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Saaim throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Norvac is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
CJ Saaim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saaim scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Norvac misses with a low kick.
Norvac throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Norvac pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Norvac connects with a nice looking jab.
Saaim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Saaim is in close to Norvac's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Norvac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saaim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saaim throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Norvac works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Norvac manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Norvac will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Saaim throws a series of punches but Norvac avoids them all with ease.

Saaim gets to his feet and stands over Norvac, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Norvac felt that one! Saaim unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Norvac from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). CJ Saaim!
CJ Saaim bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
