PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Igor Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riccardo Parsia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Ivanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Riccardo Parsia!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parsia goes for a double leg but Ivanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ivanov continues to drive forward.
Ivanov seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Horrible takedown attempt by Parsia or perhaps it was just good defense by Ivanov, which made it look bad.
Ivanov feinted with a counter takedown.

Ivanov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parsia to the mat! Parsia manages to get full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Parsia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Parsia.

Parsia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ivanov is fending him off so far but Parsia persists. Nope, Ivanov circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Igor Ivanov.
I think Parsia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
