Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Dubois (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tom Bowman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Dubois! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tom Bowman! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dubois lands with an uppercut that bounces Bowman off the cage and back into range. Bowman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bowman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dubois.
Bowman looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Dubois fails in his attempt to clinch. Dubois stuffs the takedown. Dubois tries to counter by clinching up but Bowman breaks away and moves out of range. Dubois connects with a body shot. Nice straight punches there by Dubois. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dubois.
It looks like Tom Bowman has been cut. Dubois leaves Bowman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bowman tries to bum rush Dubois with a series of wild strikes but Dubois uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dubois tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bowman counters with a body kick that stops Dubois in his tracks momentarily. Bowman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Dubois kicks off Bowman and gets to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dubois just misses with a punch to the body.
Dubois's corner calls for a 1-2. Dubois obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Nice sprawl there from Dubois as Bowman shoots in. Pierre Dubois has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Bowman.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bowman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bowman advances to half guard. Bowman is looking to take a break and control but Dubois is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bowman seems to be working for a kimura but Dubois defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dubois wants to improve his position but Bowman is controlling well.
Bowman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dubois has managed to free his arm - good work. Dubois is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Private Training Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Bowman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowman wants to work for an arm triangle but Dubois is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bowman moves nicely into side control. Bowman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dubois has escaped the position, nice work there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bowman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dubois knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bowman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowman in side control lands a decent elbow. Bowman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dubois has escaped the position, nice work there. Bowman has an Americana. Dubois didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bowman is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bowman hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tom Bowman! Tom Bowman is the new welterweight champion! Tom Bowman thanked the fans post fight for their support.
