Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sean McAodh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Sea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean McAodh has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sean McAodh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Sea!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sea slaps away a takedown attempt from McAodh, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sea unleashes a big counter combination but McAodh bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A big right from Sea misses.
McAodh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sea sprawls well. Sea wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McAodh gets slowly back to his feet.
Sea with the counter takedown but McAodh avoids it easily.
McAodh wants to clinch up but Sea keeps it at a distance.
McAodh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sea.

McAodh rushes Sea and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sea escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McAodh slips under a jab from Sea.
Sea has a takedown stuffed.
McAodh tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Sea manages to circle out of the way.
McAodh wants to clinch up but Sea keeps it at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sea clinches.
McAodh is trying to force a seperation but Sea has the dominant position.

Sea pulls guard.
McAodh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sea manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McAodh manages to get himself to full guard.

Sea is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Sea has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sea stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McAodh closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sea to the mat! Sea manages to get full guard.
Sea pulls McAodh in to control the position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sea has eaten all the pies!
McAodh preventing the sweep.
McAodh looking to sit in guard and control but Sea gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


McAodh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sea throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McAodh works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sea is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

McAodh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sea works over McAodh with some ground and pound from guard.
Sea looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Sea working some strikes from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sea tries to free his leg and advance position but McAodh is retaining full guard.
McAodh wants to stand and escape but Sea is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sea landing some decent shots from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McAodh is trying to control the position but Sea postures up.
Sea lands a couple of elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sea accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sea is looking to work some ground and pound but McAodh has wrist control.
Sea seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sea keeps the fight on the outside.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nice takedown defense from Sea. No joy for McAodh on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean McAodh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sea misses with a takedown attempt - McAodh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Sea dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sea shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McAodh but McAodh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McAodh doesn't manage to clinch there - Sea circles away.

Sea takes the fight into the clinch.
I was talking to McAodh's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Sea tries to pull guard but McAodh forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sea obliges.

Sea pulls guard successfully.
Sea seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sea throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jack Sea has got the better of the ground game so far.
McAodh makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Sea punching from the bottom.
Sea wants to stand up but McAodh is controlling him.
Sea controlling the position.
McAodh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
McAodh looking to pass the guard.
Sea looking for a sweep. Not yet Sea, not yet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sea is on top in guard.

Sea has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sea is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sea makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sea looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

McAodh is wriggling around but Sea manages to pass to half guard.
Sea keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
McAodh trying to control but Sea postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sea closes the distance and pushes McAodh back into the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McAodh just leaning against Sea, taking a breather.
McAodh working aggressively here.

Sea breaks the clinch.
McAodh fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - McAodh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sea pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sea fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McAodh sprawls well initially but Sea persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Sea showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Sea darts in and clinches McAodh up against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Sea gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McAodh.
McAodh working hard to break the clinch.
Sea jumps guard but McAodh stands there with Sea around his waist. Sea gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McAodh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sea breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sea drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sea passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Sea wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McAodh, who protects the arm well.

Sea decides to stand back up.
Sea keeps the fight on the outside.

Sea closes the distance and clinches.
McAodh is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
McAodh tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
McAodh's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sea prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean McAodh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sea gets control of McAodh's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sea will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sea is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Sea postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for McAodh to stand up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McAodh slaps away a takedown attempt from Sea, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McAodh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sea sprawls and moves away.
McAodh wants to clinch.
McAodh tries to clinch but Sea moves out of range.
Jack Sea is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McAodh.
Sea looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McAodh is fending him off so far but Sea persists. Nope, McAodh circles away and we're back to standing.
Jack Sea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McAodh forces Sea back against the cage and clinches.
Sea has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McAodh after a bit of a struggle.
Sea tries to pull guard but McAodh won't allow it.

Sea breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sea instigates a clinch.

Sea pulls guard effortlessly.
McAodh wants to control from the top but Sea keeps moving.
McAodh stopping the sweep attempt from Sea.
Sean McAodh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

McAodh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sea looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sea looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sea!

Sea just content to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jack Sea is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Sea comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sea has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
