Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leland Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Barret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmer misses with a wild body shot. Palmer gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Barret. Palmer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Barret to the ground. Palmer is now in Barret's guard. Barret looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Palmer puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Palmer is looking to take a break and control but Barret is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Barret looking for a kimura from the bottom but Palmer passes into side control! Barret is not content to let Palmer control the position. Barret is looking to reverse the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barret is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Palmer off and has taken his back! Will Barret go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's one minute gone in the round. Barret is hanging on to Palmer's back as he tries to escape.
Palmer has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Barret. Barret tries to keep control of the position but Palmer is staying busy. Palmer takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Barret missing with strikes from the back. Well, with Barret on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Palmer is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Barret struggling to land strikes to the head as Palmer covers up. Barret missing with strikes. Barret tightening his grip on Palmer, looking for the choke. I really don't envy Palmer right now.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Barret throws strikes from the back but Palmer rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Palmer. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Barret postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Barret looking to pass the guard. Barret working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Barret tries to free his leg and advance position but Palmer is retaining full guard. Barret postures up in Palmer's guard and throws a big left but Palmer blocks it. Barret throws an elbow that misses. Palmer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Barret's guard. Nice move by Palmer!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barret lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barret in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Palmer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barret controls the pace. Palmer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barret is one step ahead there. Barret is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barret trying to control but Palmer is working from the bottom. Palmer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Barret trying to control the position from guard on top but Palmer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barret is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barret drops back, looking for a kneebar! Palmer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Palmer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Palmer! Barret sneaks back into half guard. Barret is looking for a sweep. Palmer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Barret is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Palmer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Palmer's back! Barret struggling to land strikes to the head as Palmer covers up. Barret is trying to stick to Palmer's back but Palmer is turning into Barret. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Barret's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Palmer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wayne Barret dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Palmer lands with a nice body punch. Barret listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Barret has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Palmer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Palmer misses with a body shot
and Barret counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Barret with a nice cross. Palmer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Barret looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Barret lands with a good body shot. Barret scores with a punch to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Palmer throws an overhand right that lands on Barret's shoulder, as Barret tries to avoid the shot. Palmer ducks under a wild hook from Barret. Barret with a nice cross. Palmer sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Palmer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Barret counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Barret scores with a crisp jab that stopped Palmer in his tracks. Palmer shoots in for a double leg but Barret sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Barret swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barret lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Palmer falls backwards - clearly groggy! Barret dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayne Barret! Wayne Barret really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that RAGS of a RONIN logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. Leland Palmer spoke after the fight, saying 'nooo'.
