This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; James Steel! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Yuri Tuksu!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Tuksu has closed the distance and engaged Steel in a clinch.
Steel tries to pull guard but Tuksu won't allow it.

Tuksu jumps guard and drags Steel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Steel preventing the sweep.
Steel wants to control from the top but Tuksu keeps moving.
Tuksu wants to sweep here but Steel controlling him for the moment.
Tuksu working a defensive guard here.
Steel advances to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tuksu is holding on to half guard well.
Tuksu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Steel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tuksu!

Tuksu tries to hold on but Steel pushes him away.
Steel is looking to work his way around to Tuksu's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Steel moves to back control.

Tuksu prevents Steel from getting a body triangle.
Steel not allowing Tuksu to control his hands.
Steel struggling to keep hold of the position.

Steel is persistently looking for the submission but Tuksu is defending it well.
I really don't envy Tuksu right now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tuksu looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Tuksu is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Steel looking for the RNC.

Steel is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tuksu knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tuksu for a finish.
Steel trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Steel has the hooks in. Tuksu is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Steel has managed to slip his arm under Tuksu's chin. This could be all over... yep, Tuksu is tapping out! Submission win for Steel.
