Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shelby Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihide Haga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shelby Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihide Haga!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haga looking to score a takedown here. Wyatt is defending well but Haga drives through and ends up in Wyatt's guard.
Wyatt wants to get back to his feet but Haga passes into half guard.

Wyatt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wyatt looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Wyatt wants to control but Haga is keeping busy.
Wyatt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wyatt is staying active underneath Haga, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Haga stops Wyatt from getting back to his feet.
Wyatt regains full guard. Nicely done.

Wyatt is working an open guard so Haga takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Wyatt gets tackled into the cage by Haga. Haga maintains the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wyatt is trying to pull guard but Haga has him pressed against the cage.

Haga works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Haga throws a big right hand that misses.
Haga slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Haga must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wyatt looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Haga throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wyatt wants to stand but Haga is controlling the position.

Haga gets to his feet. Wyatt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Wyatt tries to keep at a distance but Haga has taken the fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Haga misses with a hook from the clinch.

Haga escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Haga closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wyatt to the mat! Wyatt manages to get full guard.

Wyatt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haga can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wyatt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Haga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Haga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wyatt is breathing heavily.
Haga slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Haga tries to free his leg and advance position but Wyatt is retaining full guard.

Wyatt looking to control but Haga passes into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wyatt manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wyatt tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Haga just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wyatt lands a knee to the head.

Haga gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Haga throwing strikes from guard but Wyatt blocks nicely.

Haga looking to pass the guard.
Haga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wyatt is trying to control the position but Haga postures up.
Haga slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Wyatt.
Wyatt wants to improve his position but Haga is controlling well.
Well, if Haga is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wyatt is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshihide Haga dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Haga throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Wyatt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Haga to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Wyatt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Haga is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wyatt.
Wyatt throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Haga. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Wyatt is looking for a sweep.
Yoshihide Haga has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wyatt gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wyatt is desperately trying to improve his position but Haga has a good base and remains in mount.
Wyatt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wyatt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Haga is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Haga tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Haga blocks Wyatt's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Wyatt tries to lock up and control but Haga gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Haga is continuing to stall.
Wyatt bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Haga has a closed guard, preventing Wyatt from standing up.

Wyatt trying to control but Haga is working from the bottom.

Haga is looking for a triangle but Wyatt pushes his legs off easily.
Wyatt wants to stand but Haga is controlling his posture from full guard.

Haga pulls Wyatt in close to prevent any damage.
Haga is looking to sweep but instead, Wyatt has passed into half guard.
Haga is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Haga is staying active underneath Wyatt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Haga wants to get back to full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wyatt is trying to control. Haga wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Wyatt shoots in and gets a takedown into Haga's guard.
Wyatt scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wyatt content to stall in guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshihide Haga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Wyatt manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Haga on his heels. He'll look to pass Haga's guard now, I'm sure.
Haga wants to get back to his feet but Wyatt passes into half guard.
Wyatt seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haga looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Wyatt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Haga does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Haga slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Haga is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Haga takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Haga stalling.
Wyatt goes for a takedown attempt but Haga pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Haga fails with a takedown attempt.
Haga shoots in looking for a takedown but Wyatt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Haga's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wyatt avoids it really well and circles away.
Shelby Wyatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshihide Haga.

Wyatt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wyatt lands in his opponent's guard.
Wyatt is standing up over Haga. Haga looks to escape but Wyatt dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The strikes coming from Wyatt are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Haga is not content to let Wyatt control the position.
Haga tries to buck Wyatt off but Wyatt is having none of it.

Wyatt stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Haga gets caught flat footed, as Wyatt shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Haga is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wyatt dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Haga is not content to let Wyatt control the position.
Wyatt gets to mount! Haga was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wyatt looking to control but Haga is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shelby Wyatt showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Haga has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
