Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Johnss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Johnss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Kane! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane has managed to clinch.
A short uppercut from Kane. Kane breaks the clinch.
Kane throws a series of punches but Johnss moves out of range. Johnss wants to clinch and Kane counters by clinching up. Kane lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Still in the clinch, Kane scores with a nice short uppercut. Kane keeps control of Johnss as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Johnss tries to break the clinch but Kane is controlling the position. Kane lands a nice shot to the body. Johnss tries to break the clinch but Kane is controlling the position. Kane scores with an uppercut up the middle. Johnss can't break the clinch.

Johnss stops Kane from standing up. Johnss wants to get up but he can't break Kane's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kane kicks Johnss off and gets to his feet. Kane throws a nice looking combination but Johnss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kane throwing shots but Johnss is blocking nicely. Kane not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Johnss actively working from the bottom here. Johnss is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnss tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kane wants to stand up but Johnss has a hold of him and won't allow it. Kane looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kane decides to return to a standing position. Johnss fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kane lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Johnss is rocked! Kane fails to land with a series of punches.
Oh Johnss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kane misses with a two punch combination.

Johnss shoots in for a double leg but Kane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kane smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A combination from Kane does no damage. Kane throws a series of punches but Johnss avoids them all with ease. Johnss seems to have got his legs back now. Kane shoots in and drives through. Johnss sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kane has taken the fight to the clinch.
Johnss tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kane smiles and moves away.

Johnss tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kane counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnss won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnss gets back to half guard. Johnss avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kane.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnss's head. Johnss looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kane lands with a punch from half guard. Johnss is trying to get back to full guard. Kane winds up and cracks Johnss with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kane wants to pass to mount but Johnss is defending the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kane lands a with a good body shot. Kane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnss looks to clinch and Kane counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kane misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kane pushes Johnss up against the cage in a clinch. Kane lands a body punch in the clinch. Johnss misses with some punches.
Kane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnss is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kane. Johnss wants to clinch and Kane counters with a two punch combo. Johnss tries to clinch up and Kane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Johnss closes the distance looking to clinch and Kane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Danga de danga de dang - Kane scores with a four punch combination! Kane gets a clinch. Kane manages to break the clinch.
Johnss tries to clinch up and Kane counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnss thinking. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy Kane dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Johnss darts in trying to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kane misses with a takedown attempt - Johnss sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnss scores a takedown into full mount! Johnss prevents Kane from getting the reversal. Kane defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Johnss. Kane tries to hold on but Johnss postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnss blocks Kane's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane is looking to get to half guard. Kane squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Johnss wants to finish this one by submission but Kane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Johnss. Johnss gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Kane has closed the distance and engaged Johnss in a clinch.
Kane lands with a left to the head. Kane lands with a light punch inside. A short uppercut from Kane. Kane prevents Johnss from breaking the clinch. A short left from Kane. Kane lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Johnss or not. Johnss is trying to break free. Kane lands a body punch in the clinch. Kane lands on the inside with an uppercut. Kane drags the fight down to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kane wants to stand and escape but Johnss is having none of it. Kane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kane wants to stand and escape but Johnss is having none of it. Left hook, right uppercut from Kane. Mike Johnss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnss darts in trying to clinch and Kane counters with a shoot takedown. Johnss fights it but they end up in guard. Johnss is working an open guard so Kane takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Kane scores with a decent looking hook. Johnss closes the distance and clinches up with Kane, looking for a takedown. Johnss pushes Kane against the cage but Kane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Johnss tries to clinch up and Kane counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kane throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Johnss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kane landing some decent shots from guard. Johnss has a closed guard, preventing Kane from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kane stands and steps away. Johnss gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnss, pushing him back against the cage. Kane lands on the inside with an uppercut. A right hand to the body from Kane.
Kane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnss avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Johnss wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kane has him pressed against the cage. Johnss wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kane gets control of Johnss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kane will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kane doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Johnss tries to clinch but Kane moves away and Kane counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kane. Johnss misses with a punch on the inside.

Andy Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kane circles away from the clinch attempt letting Kane counter with a right hand. Johnss tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kane counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnss! Johnss in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Kane has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnss's face.

Kane landing shots from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kane with a couple of short strikes. Kane lands a big shot there that rocks Johnss but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Johnss is squirming around, avoiding Kane's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnss keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Johnss is working hard here to advance position. Kane tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kane pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kane putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Kane postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Johnss looks a forlorn figure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kane pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Johnss regains half guard. Johnss manages to get to full guard.
Kane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kane landing with the ground and pound. Johnss throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kane uses it to pass to side control.
Johnss wants to get back to his feet. Johnss takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnss is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Johnss moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kane is working Johnss over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Johnss tries to land a sweep but no joy. Johnss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Johnss throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Johnss wants to get back to his feet but Kane is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnss looking for a guillotine here but Kane defends easily.
Kane stands and throws Johnss's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kane stands up and beckons Johnss to his feet. Kane takes the fight into the clinch. Kane successfully pulls guard.
Kane wants to stand but Johnss is controlling the position. Johnss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kane is proving hard to escape from. Mike Johnss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Andy Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnss drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Johnss seems to have locked his on tight now - Kane screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Johnss, as he picks up the win!
