Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Russel Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Tessier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Tessier!
Tessier is looking to get back to his feet here but Dickson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tessier's back.

Dickson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tessier is trapped and Dickson is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Tessier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dickson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tessier throws a sloppy head kick and Dickson moves out of range easily.
Tessier dives in and grabs Dickson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dickson pushes down on Tessier's head and hops out.
Dickson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dickson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Russel Dickson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dickson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tessier can do to turn this around?
