Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Lyman Kissell and Byron Tipton. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Lyman Kissell! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Byron Tipton! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Tipton leaves Kissell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kissell darts in and clinches Tipton up against the cage. Kissell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tipton fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kissell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tipton defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyman Kissell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tipton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tipton pushing down on Kissell's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Tipton is looking to take a break and control but Kissell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are battling for position here. Kissell manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kissell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tipton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kissell looking for a sweep. Tipton eventually gives up the hold. Kissell with the active half guard here but Tipton passes nicely into side control. Our spies down at at Rabid Dog inform us that Tipton has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Tipton is looking for a triangle but Kissell pushes his legs off easily.
Tipton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kissell's guard. Kissell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tipton defends well. Kissell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kissell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Kissell seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Tipton has recovered full guard. Tipton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kissell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kissell advances position into side control! Score +2 for reaching mount: Kissell (9) vs (23) Tipton Tipton is looking to improve his position but Kissell isn't that keen on the idea. Kissell moves to back control. Score +3 for taking back: Kissell (12) vs (23) Tipton Kissell working for a choke but Tipton reverses nicely into Kissell 's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Kissell (12) vs (25) Tipton Tipton looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tipton wants to control from the top but Kissell keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Tipton wins on points by 25 to 12. Byron Tipton tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. |
