Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Gatsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Texas Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Gatsby! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Texas Pete! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatsby jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pete lands an overhand right. Pete throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gatsby's head. Jay Gatsby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gatsby tries to land a leg kick but Pete saw it coming and moves away.
Gatsby looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A jab lands there for Pete. A good leg kick by Pete. Gatsby lands a nice looking body shot.
Gatsby on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Gatsby is looking to clinch. Pete lands a really nice looking cross but Gatsby seems unphased.
Pete walks into a stiff left hand from Gatsby. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Good work by Gatsby as he checks the leg kick. Pete dips to his left and cracks Gatsby with an uppercut! Pete pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gatsby is out of range and Pete settles back down. Gatsby moves into range and clinches up with Pete. Gatsby's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Pete working aggressively here.
Gatsby blocks an elbow strike. Gatsby has picked Pete up - he's going for a ride! Gatsby dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Gatsby throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gatsby not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gatsby throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gatsby wants to pass the guard but Pete is defending well. Pete tries to get to full guard but Gatsby has control of the leg. Gatsby has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pete on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Gatsby missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gatsby is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Pete on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gatsby takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pete is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Gatsby lands strikes from half guard. Pete has hold of Gatsby's hands but Gatsby slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gatsby thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pete's head. Gatsby is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Gatsby trying to control the pace. Gatsby not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gatsby throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gatsby is trying to control the action in half guard but Pete is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Gatsby sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pete defending well though. The fighters are battling for position here. Pete manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gatsby postures up and lands a big shot to Pete's brow. Gatsby postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gatsby keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pete's head. Gatsby throws a big elbow that misses. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gatsby trying to control the position from guard on top but Pete is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pete seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Gatsby wants to control from the top but Pete keeps moving. Pete trying to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gatsby throwing strikes from guard but Pete blocks nicely. Gatsby postures up and lands a big shot to Pete's brow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Gatsby dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pete scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Pete ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gatsby instigates a clinch. Gatsby blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Pete pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Pete lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gatsby backwards. Pete misses with some punches.

Gatsby misses with a hook from the clinch. Gatsby swings wildly with an uppercut but Pete uses good head movement to avoid it. Gatsby working aggressively here.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gatsby. Gatsby lands a nice uppercut. Gatsby is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pete can do to turn this around? Pete goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Gatsby's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Pete digs a right hand into Gatsby's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gatsby's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gatsby creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Pete has a couple of punches blocked by Gatsby.

Gatsby lands a shot to the body. A left hand lands to the body for Gatsby.
Pete is breathing heavily. Gatsby lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Jay Gatsby has scored more points in the clinch so far. Gatsby lands a hook that snaps the head of Pete backwards. Gatsby scores with a nice hook to the head. Gatsby lands with a light punch inside. Gatsby softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Gatsby lands with a right to the head. Gatsby has a couple of punches blocked by Pete.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pete misses with some punches.
Gatsby is working Pete over against the cage. Gatsby lands on the inside with an uppercut. Gatsby lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Pete backwards. Pete has had enough of the clinch but Gatsby keeps him there for the moment. Gatsby wants a takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gatsby lands with a left to the head. Gatsby lands with a light punch inside. Gatsby gets through Pete's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A quick uppercut on the inside from Gatsby.
Pete is rocked! Pete looks to throw an elbow but misses. Gatsby lands a body punch. Gatsby floors Pete with a big punch on the inside! Pete is trying to recover but Gatsby dives into side control. Pete is still in real trouble! Can Gatsby finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gatsby working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The crowd goes nuts as Gatsby knocks Pete out cold with a massive hammerfist! Gatsby Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jay Gatsby! Jay Gatsby retains his light heavyweight title! As Jay Gatsby got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: My life, old sport, my life... my life has got to be like this... It's got to keep going on.'.
