Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean claude Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mase Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen Buju Banton - Murderer as his entrance music. Mase Marshall will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean claude Sherk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mase Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sherk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sherk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sherk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sherk looking to sit in guard and control but Marshall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sherk looking to control.
Sherk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Marshall content to stall in guard here.
Marshall postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jean claude Sherk.
Marshall scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Sherk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Marshall keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sherk controlling the position easily from mount.
Sherk thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Sherk tries to control but Marshall wriggling away.
Marshall wants to control but Sherk is having none of it.
Sherk raining down shots from the mount!
Marshall wants to hold on but Sherk pushes him away.
Sherk sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Marshall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sherk working the ground and pound effectively.
Sherk is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Marshall is in real trouble.

Sherk has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Marshall trying to control but not successfully.
A lull in the action here.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Sherk controlling the positon.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Sherk's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Sherk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sherk showed some decent athleticism there.
Marshall is controlling Sherk's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Sherk slows the pace down in half guard.
Marshall is looking to improve his position.
Marshall trying to hold on to Sherk's head to control him but Sherk postures up.
Marshall looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sherk moves nicely into side control.

Sherk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sherk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Marshall dodges the ground and pound from Marshall.
Marshall is not content to let Sherk control the position.
You can see the frustration on Marshall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sherk is looking to take a break and control but Marshall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Marshall manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean claude Sherk dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A solid leg kick lands there for Marshall.
Marshall lands a nice shot to the body.
Sherk fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sherk looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marshall listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Marshall slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Marshall is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marshall as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean claude Sherk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marshall looks to land a combination. Sherk sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Both fighters circling a little - Marshall finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Marshall bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sherk's head.
Sherk takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Marshall throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sherk walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sherk moves out of range of the body kick from Marshall.

Sherk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marshall's guard.
Sherk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sherk trying to control but Marshall is working from the bottom.
Sherk wants to pass the guard but Marshall is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marshall is trying to control the position but Sherk postures up.
Marshall is breathing heavily.

Marshall being controlled here, momentarily.
Marshall keeping moving, preventing Sherk from controlling successfully.
Marshall is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sherk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Sherk decides to stand back up.
Mase Marshall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sherk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Marshall desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Jean claude Sherk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sherk is keen to just control but Marshall is a slippery customer.

Sherk lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sherk sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Marshall defending well though.
Sherk works his foot free and advances to mount.
Sherk wants to take his opponent's back but Marshall doesn't allow it.
Sherk controlling the pace for now.
Marshall takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sherk throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Sherk has isolated one of Marshall's arms. Marshall looking to fight him off but Sherk twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
