Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dom Willis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Lee! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good exchange - Willis coming out on top. A looping hook to the body misses from Willis. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet. Willis scores with the left hand. Lee knows he should have avoided that one. Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Willis. Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Willis was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee. Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Willis, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lee doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Jab by Willis. Willis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Willis blocks a jab. Lee just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromWillis. Lee throws a push kick but Willis slaps the foot to one side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee just misses with a punch to the body.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lee has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Willis lands with an overhand left. Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Willis throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Lee. Willis takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses. Lee looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Lee throws a hook but Willis avoids it easily. Willis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lee's guard. Willis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Willis scoring with some ground and pound. Willis postures up.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully. Willis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Willis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Willis tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Willis is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willis trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Willis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Willis throws a big elbow that misses. Willis trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Willis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Willis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lee keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully. Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Willis looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Willis seems keen to control Lee's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Willis is controlling Lee's posture. Willis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lee is not content to let Willis control the position. Willis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Willis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lee defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Willis is just content to waste time from the top position. Lee takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Willis with a flurry of punches that miss. Lee keeping full guard, as Willis tries to pass. Willis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Willis wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Willis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Willis throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dom Willis dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Willis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Willis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Willis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Willis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Lee is looking for a sweep. Willis working the ground and pound from side control. You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lee takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Willis lands a nice forearm strike. Willis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willis taking a break here but Lee is having none of it and regains half guard. Lee is staying active underneath Willis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Willis is looking to stall here but Lee recovers full guard. Willis wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position. Willis looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Willis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lee's head. Willis wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving. Dom Willis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Willis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Willis's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Willis trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Willis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lee is keeping the position for now. Lee working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Willis.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lee works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Willis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lee. Willis is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Willis gets full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lee drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Willis dives on top into guard. Willis wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Willis is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Willis circles away and we're back to standing. Lee shoots for a double leg takedown but Willis sprawls well. He's pushed Lee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Willis shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well. Willis misses with a body kick. Lee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Willis throws the left hand but Lee avoids the punch easily. Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lee defending well as Willis loads up on a big left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Willis scores with a body shot.
Willis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lee.
Willis thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lee if he has to take too many more of those.
Willis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Willis displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Lee misses with a looping right. Lee works over Willis's head and body with a nice combination. Willis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.
Lee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Willis tries to bum rush Lee with a series of wild strikes but Lee uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dom Willis is winning the standup battle so far. Lee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Willis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Willis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around? Lee looking to control but instead Willis has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Willis keeping hold of Lee's head, controlling as best he can. Willis is defending against the submission attempts here by Lee.

Willis has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Lee preventing the sweep. Lee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Willis pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage. Willis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

Willis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Willis throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely. Willis trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Dom Willis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Willis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
