Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augie cracks Silva with an open hand slap.
Augie throws a big shot that misses.
Augie lands a lovely overhand right.
Augie connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Augie lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Augie.
Silva needs to keep his hands up - Augie had a free shot at his head there.
Augie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.

Augie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Still in half guard, Augie seems content to control.

Augie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Augie lands a nice short elbow.
Silva keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Augie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Augie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Augie is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Augie connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Augie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.

Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Augie moves away.

Augie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
