Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Tutu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ahmad Atkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Desmond Tutu!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tutu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Tutu is trying to get an arm triangle but Atkins is defending well.
Tutu throws an elbow but Atkins slips to the side and avoids it well.
You can see the frustration on Atkins's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Atkins holds on to Tutu's head and controls the position momentarily.
Tutu slows the pace down.
Tutu tries to advance to mount but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Atkins is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Atkins has one of Tutu's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Tutu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Atkins sneaks back into half guard.
Atkins is looking to control Tutu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Atkins avoid being mounted?
Atkins is doing well to control the position and prevent Tutu from advancing to side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Atkins wants to control but Tutu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Atkins is looking for a sweep. Tutu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Atkins tries to keep at a distance but Tutu has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tutu has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Atkins clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
I really don't envy Atkins right now.

Atkins looking very determined here, making life difficult for Tutu.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Atkins's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Atkins just trying to survive but Tutu is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Atkins tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Tutu working for a submission but Atkins is keeping him at bay.
Atkins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Atkins slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Tutu is thwarting Atkins's attempts to control the position.
Atkins keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Desmond Tutu dominated that round.
That's time! Atkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Tutu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Atkins's guard.

Atkins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Atkins.

Tutu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tutu instigates a clinch.

Tutu pulls Atkins into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Atkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Atkins lands a couple of elbows.

Tutu has momentary wrist control but Atkins slips an elbow through the middle.
Atkins wants to control from the top but Tutu keeps moving.

Atkins gets to his feet - Tutu follows without any prompting.

Atkins gets caught flat footed, as Tutu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Atkins is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tutu presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are battling for position here. Atkins manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Tutu prevents Atkins from getting back to his feet.
Atkins has Tutu pulled in close to control his posture.
Tutu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tutu drops back looking for a leg! Atkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Atkins manages to kick Tutu off! Tutu jumps back into Atkins's guard.
Tutu is breathing heavily.

Atkins is pulling down on Tutu's head to control his posture.
Tutu passes Atkins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tutu lands with a punch from half guard.

Tutu wants to work for an arm triangle but Atkins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Atkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Atkins is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Atkins is trying to maintain the position but Tutu is very close to passing his half guard.
Atkins tries to kick Tutu off but Tutu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Atkins is looking to clinch but Tutu is avoiding it.

A close second round but Desmond Tutu will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Tutu closes the distance and clinches.

Tutu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tutu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Atkins changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Tutu misses with a hook to the body
and Atkins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tutu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atkins keeps working.
Tutu is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Atkins has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Tutu is on him like a limpet, forcing Atkins back against the cage.

Ahmad Atkins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tutu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
