Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hill throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hughs was covering up waiting for the punch and Hill finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Hughs is looking for a triangle but Hill pushes his legs off easily.
Hughs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hill's guard.

Hughs wants to control from the top but Hill keeps moving.
Hill looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughs is one step ahead there.
Hughs trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hughs with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hill throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Hughs passes into half guard.
Hill regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hughs won't allow Hill to sweep him here.
Hughs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hughs's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Hill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hughs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hughs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hill thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hill shoots for a takedown but Hughs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hughs tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Hill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hughs on the ground.

Hughs is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hughs gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hughs gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hughs apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Hughs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hill to the ground. Hughs is now in Hill's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Hill will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Hill.
I think Hill has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
