PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Hull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crack Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie Hull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crack Head!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Head is defended easily by Hull.
Head swats away the attempt to clinch by Hull.
Head fails with a takedown attempt.
Hull tries to counter by clinching up but Head breaks away and moves out of range.
Head misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Head misses with a jab, cross combination.
A little feinted left hand from Hull on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Head fails to land the takedown.
Robbie Hull has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crack Head.

Hull gets a clinch.

Head wants a takedown but no success here.

Hull pulls guard successfully.
Hull looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Head is looking for a triangle but Hull pushes his legs off easily.

Head has momentary wrist control but Hull slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hull accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hull really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Head uses the cage to get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Head.

Head tries to pull guard but Hull forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Head breaks from the clinch.
Hull checks a low kick from Head.
Head tries to clinch but Hull moves out of range.
A big right from Head misses.
Hull is looking for a counter combo.
Hull shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Head as he jumps to the side.

Hull clinches with his opponent.

Head breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Head gets caught napping as Hull dives in and scores a takedown. Head manages to retain guard.

Head is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hull is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hull's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hull has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Head working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hull doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hull manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hull cracks Head with a solid left hand.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hull has Head up against the cage in a clinch.
Hull is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Head can do to turn this around?
Head jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hull walks away with a smile on his face. Head gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Head swats away the attempt to clinch by Hull.

Hull rushes Head and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Head breaks from the clinch.
Head throws a right hand that Hull ducks under and follows up with a left that Hull also avoids with ease.

Head is breathing heavily.

Head shoots in looking for a takedown but Hull manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Head's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Head is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hull is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Head to the mat. Head regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hull is in close to Head's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Head is trying to keep Hull in close.
Hull is working Head over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Head has his foot on Hull's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hull works his way back into a safe position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Hull pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Head drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hull defends it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Head tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hull just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hull gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Head regains guard.

Head is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hull presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hull manages to pull guard.
Hull is pulling down on Head's head. It's preventing any offense from Head, at least for the moment.
Hull lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head postures up in Hull's guard and throws a big left but Hull blocks it.
Hull lands some strikes from the bottom.
Hull is wriggling around but Head manages to pass to half guard.

Head is working for a submission of some sort.

Head is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hull is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Head has latched onto it... Big trouble! Head pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Hull is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Head!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Crack Head!
