Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Fields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hunter's choice of entrance music: Cyprus Hill - Hits From the Bong. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Fields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 31 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter throws a head kick but Fields moves out of range.
Fields appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Jay Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fields shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hunter throws a counter combo.
Hunter misses with a series of wild punches.
Hunter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fields avoids the head kick by Hunter.
Fields attempts a counter takedown but Hunter avoids it well and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter throws the kick towards the body but Fields avoids it.

Fields shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Fields decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hunter's guard.

Hunter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fields is trying to control but can't.
Hunter thows a huge punch but Fields dodges it nicely.

Hunter is just content to waste time from the top position. Fields takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Hunter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fields escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hunter throws a right and a left that Fields avoids nicely.

Fields changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hunter misses with a double jab.
Hunter tries to land a body kick

and Fields counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fields is thwarting Hunter's attempts to control the position.
Fields looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hunter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fields wants to free his trapped foot but Hunter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fields connects with a nice short shot to Hunter's temple.

Hunter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hunter.
Fields keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hunter's head.
Hunter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fields gets to his feet and stands over Hunter, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hunter felt that one! Fields unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hunter from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Fields!
During a confident post fight interview, Scott Fields thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
