Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Federico Berger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arlon Wind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Federico Berger had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Federico Berger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Arlon Wind!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berger tries to clinch up but Wind circles away and keeps his distance.
No joy there for Wind, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Berger has his takedown stuffed
and Wind counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Berger fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Berger looks for a takedown but Wind sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Federico Berger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Berger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wind swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Berger closes the distance and pushes Wind back into the cage.

Berger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wind prevents it.

A frustrated look appears on Berger's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wind drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berger postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Wind pulls Berger in to control the position.
Berger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wind looking to hit a scissor sweep but Berger is one step ahead there.

Berger stands and steps away. Wind gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Berger blocks a head kick by Wind.

Wind looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Berger throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Berger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Berger wants to control the position but Wind says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Berger is looking to control Wind's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Berger avoid being mounted?

Berger kicks off Wind and gets to his feet.

Wind manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Berger on his heels. He'll look to pass Berger's guard now, I'm sure.

Berger has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wind is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wind looks winded!
Berger has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wind is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Berger wants to take the fight to the mat but Wind manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Berger could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Berger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wind closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Berger to the mat! Berger manages to get full guard.
Berger is looking to sweep but instead, Wind has passed into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Berger manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Wind not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wind wants to control from the top but Berger keeps moving.
Berger can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wind controls the pace.
Let's hope that Wind has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Berger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A close round but Arlon Wind will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Berger tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wind has Berger up against the cage in a clinch.
Berger is working for takedown but Wind is calmly controlling the position for now.

Wind has Berger pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wind pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Berger tumbling to the mat - Wind dives into Berger's guard.
Wind tries to stand but Berger is controlling from the bottom.
Berger wants to sweep but no luck.

Berger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wind's guard.


Berger gets to his feet. Wind looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fight stays on the outside here - Berger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wind drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Berger throws Wind to one side and escapes!
Wind is breathing heavily.

Berger drives through and clinches with Wind against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Berger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Berger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wind's waist but Wind gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Berger off to one side.

Wind looking to score a takedown here. Berger is defending well but Wind drives through and ends up in Berger's guard.

Berger is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wind presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Wind breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Berger closes the distance and pushes Wind back into the cage.

Wind ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wind no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Berger has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wind is proving hard to escape from.
Berger postures up in Wind's guard and throws a big left but Wind blocks it.

Berger stands up and waves to Wind to follow him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Berger swats away the attempt to clinch by Wind.

Wind drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Berger is looking to regain half guard here but Wind keeps moving and retains side control.
Berger is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Berger wants to control but Wind postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Wind counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Berger has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wind is on him like a limpet, forcing Berger back against the cage.

Wind is looking to break free of the clinch but Berger has double underhooks.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Berger has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wind avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Wind has hold of one of Berger's legs. Berger is fighting the takedown attempt but Wind gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Wind looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Berger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Wind looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Berger!

Wind stands up and beckons Berger to his feet.
Federico Berger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wind fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Berger, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Berger tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Wind avoids it.

Arlon Wind comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wind has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
