Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ambrose Patel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Perrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perrone comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye Of The Tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ambrose Patel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Perrone! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perrone misses with an uppercut. Patel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perrone tries to avoid it but Patel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perrone to the ground. Perrone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Patel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perrone defends well and Patel ends up having to push Perrone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. As Patel backs off Perrone throws a huge counter combo but Patel manages to avoid it all. Perrone throws a body kick that misses. Patel wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Patel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Perrone sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ambrose Patel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown attempt by Perrone or perhaps it was just good defense by Patel, which made it look bad. Perrone throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Patel tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Perrone is in Patel's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perrone postures up and lands a big shot to Patel's brow. Perrone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Perrone throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patel looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Patel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Perrone controls the pace. Perrone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perrone has managed to get both his arms back between Patel's legs - danger averted. Perrone keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Patel's head. Patel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Patel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perrone on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perrone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Perrone throws a big right hand that misses. Perrone in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Patel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Perrone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Perrone connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perrone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Patel is breathing heavily. Perrone stays in close to Patel's body and controls the position. Perrone landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perrone trying to control but Patel is working from the bottom. Perrone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Patel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Perrone is looking for a sweep. Patel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perrone works his way to full guard. Good work. Patel wants to stand and escape but instead Perrone has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Perrone trying to control but Patel is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perrone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patel keeping moving, preventing Perrone from controlling successfully. Perrone throwing strikes from guard but Patel blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Perrone dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Perrone gets in close and instigates a clinch. Perrone lands a hook that snaps the head of Patel backwards. Perrone throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Patel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Patel lands with a light punch inside. Patel wants to get back to striking at distance but Perrone won't allow it.
Patel lands with a short head shot on the inside. Perrone tries a knee to the head but Patel blocks it.
Perrone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Patel walks away with a smile on his face. Perrone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Patel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perrone counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patel shoots in looking for a takedown. Perrone tries to sprawl out of it but Patel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perrone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Despite the aggression on Perrone's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perrone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Patel misses with a takedown attempt - Perrone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ambrose Patel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Perrone with a poor takedown and Patel counters with a one-two to the body. Nice sprawl there from Perrone as Patel shoots in. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Perrone stuffs the takedown attempt from Patel. Patel gets slowly back to his feet. Patel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ambrose Patel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perrone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Patel but Patel pushes him off and we're back to square one. Perrone shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Patel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perrone looking to sit in guard and control but Patel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Perrone lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Perrone throws a big right hand that misses. Perrone trying to control but Patel is working from the bottom. Patel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Perrone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Perrone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perrone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Perrone trying to control but Patel is working from the bottom. Perrone postures up in Patel's guard and throws a big left but Patel blocks it. Patel tries to land a sweep but no joy. Patel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Patel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Perrone controls the pace. Perrone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Perrone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Nice sprawl there from Patel as Perrone shoots in. A low kick from Perrone misses and Patel counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Patel wants to stand up but Perrone has a hold of him and won't allow it. Perrone is looking to improve his position.
Perrone is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Patel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Patel's back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patel covering up well under a barage of strikes. Our spies down at at Midnight MMA inform us that Perrone has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Perrone sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Patel taps out!
