Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Siggy Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Shepherd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Siggy Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Shepherd!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan lands a right hook to the body.
Duncan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Shepherd's coach down at Arvins Bootcamp was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shepherd's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Duncan throws a jab but it's blocked by Shepherd.
Duncan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shepherd keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Duncan.
Duncan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shepherd tries to avoid it but Duncan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shepherd to the ground. Shepherd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A big right from Shepherd misses.
Shepherd walks into a left hand.
Duncan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shepherd.
Duncan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shepherd sprawls and moves away.
Duncan cracks Shepherd with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Shepherd misses with a looping left.
A big left from Duncan misses.
Shepherd fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Duncan is out of range.
Duncan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Shepherd manages to circle out of the way.
Shepherd throws a big shot that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shepherd dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Shepherd misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Duncan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shepherd. Duncan does a little dance to reset his feet.
As Shepherd looks to move away, Duncan throws a big counter combo but Shepherd just gets out of the way.
Shepherd throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shepherd throws a sloppy head kick
letting Duncan counter with a right hand.
Duncan connects with a nice looking jab.
Duncan moves away from the strike by Shepherd.
A combination from Duncan does no damage.
Shepherd connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Duncan looks to land a right hand but Shepherd moved out of range.
Shepherd throws a leg kick but Duncan sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Duncan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Duncan working over Shepherd with some ground and pound. Shepherd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Duncan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Duncan blocks the strikes from Shepherd.
Shepherd is looking to escape.
Duncan wants to pass to mount but Shepherd is defending the position.
Shepherd avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Duncan.
Shepherd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duncan is working away from the top position though.
Duncan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shepherd defending well though.

Duncan is trying to work for a kimura but Shepherd is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duncan scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Duncan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Duncan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Duncan working over Shepherd with some ground and pound. Shepherd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Duncan seems to be working for a kimura but Shepherd defends the submission attempt.

Duncan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duncan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shepherd keeps working.
Ground and pound from Duncan.
Duncan working the head and body with strikes.
Duncan thows a huge punch but Shepherd dodges it nicely.
Shepherd avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Duncan.
Duncan throwing shots but Shepherd is blocking nicely.
Duncan slips a nice elbow through Shepherd's hands, connecting with Shepherd's forehead.


Shepherd is rocked!
Duncan lands strikes from half guard.
Shepherd is still in real trouble! Can Duncan finish him?
Shepherd has hold of Duncan's hands but Duncan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Duncan is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Shepherd is hurt! He's hurt bad - Duncan fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Shepherd from any more punishment! Congratulations to Duncan! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Siggy Duncan!
As Siggy Duncan got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I feel blessed to be here right now!'.
