Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kensei Hitori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kensei Hitori is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emilio Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kensei Hitori!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez fails with a takedown attempt.

Hernandez gets caught flat footed, as Hitori shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hitori has gone for a leg lock! Hernandez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hitori's guard.
Hernandez tries to stand but Hitori is controlling from the bottom.
Hitori looking to control.

Hitori throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hitori looking for a sweep. Not yet Hitori, not yet.
Hitori should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hitori is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hernandez with a nice head shot there.
Hernandez looking to pass the guard.
Hitori wants to control the position but Hernandez says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hernandez stuffs the takedown attempt from Hitori. Hitori gets slowly back to his feet.

Hernandez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hitori has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hitori can't do much from the bottom here.

Hernandez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hitori knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hitori throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Emilio Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hernandez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hernandez tries to control but Hitori wriggling away.

Hitori wants to hold on but Hernandez pushes him away.
Hitori might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hernandez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Hitori just trying to survive but Hernandez is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Emilio Hernandez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hernandez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hitori shoots and misses
and Hernandez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hitori is lucky that one didn't land flush.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hitori looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Hitori decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hernandez's guard.

Hernandez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hitori must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hernandez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hernandez stands up and beckons Hitori to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hernandez drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hitori has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close second round but Kensei Hitori will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Hernandez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hernandez keeping moving, preventing Hitori from controlling successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kensei Hitori just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hitori shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hernandez throws a head kick but Hitori moves out of range.

Hitori gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hernandez takes an elbow to the forehead.
Hernandez tries to pull guard but Hitori holds him up against the cage and eventually Hernandez drops back down to his feet.

Hitori is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hernandez can't fight it off and eventually Hitori manages to take the fight to the floor. Hernandez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hernandez is trying to keep Hitori in close.
Hitori is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hernandez has Hitori pulled in close to control his posture.
Hernandez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hitori manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kensei Hitori comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hitori has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
