Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Fatu.
Fatu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith throws a series of punches but Fatu avoids them all with ease.

Fatu drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Fatu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sonny Fatu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith misses with a hook.
Fatu's corner calls for a 1-2. Fatu obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fatu instigates a clinch.
Fatu lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fatu lands with a right to the head.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Fatu is controlling him.

Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Fatu lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Smith backwards.

Fatu lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Fatu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Smith uses from the top position.

Fatu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fatu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Fatu's legs - danger averted.

Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fatu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fatu connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fatu misses with a wild body shot.
Smith misses with a right hand
and Fatu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fatu cracks Smith with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Fatu scores with a hook to the body. Smith takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Smith feints and as Fatu raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fatu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith ducks right into an uppercut from Fatu.
We've been informed that Smith has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fatu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smith. Smith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smith throws a series of punches but Fatu moves out of range.
Fatu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fatu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Smith back to the cage. Fatu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fatu comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fatu.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fatu closes the distance and clinches.
Smith tries to work over Fatu's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A left hand lands to the body for Fatu.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Fatu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Fatu looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.

Smith takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fatu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?

and Fatu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fatu cracks Smith with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Smith falls to his knees and Fatu doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
