Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fyodor Pending (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 54 - 85 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fyodor Pending!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez takes a swing at Pending's ribcage but misses.
Ramirez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pending back to the cage. Ramirez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Pending counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Pending drops back looking for a leg! Ramirez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ramirez manages to kick Pending off! Pending jumps back into Ramirez's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pending postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ramirez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pending, into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pending should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ramirez is pushing Pending up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Pending is trying to drag Ramirez to the mat but Ramirez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ramirez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pending. Pending circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ramirez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pending looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Pending is trying to trip Ramirez. He has hold of a leg but Ramirez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pending persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ramirez is pulling down on Pending's head. It's preventing any offense from Pending, at least for the moment.
Ramirez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ramirez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ramirez tries to close the distance and clinch but Pending swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ramirez looks to land a combination but Pending avoids it well.
Pending changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Oliver Ramirez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ramirez catches Pending with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ramirez lands an overhand right.
Ramirez cracks a nice hook into Pending's ribs.
Fyodor Pending has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nice uppercut lands for Ramirez. That snapped Pending's head back.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ramirez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
