5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pulover Teixeira! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Teixeira gets a double leg takedown into Boothe's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Boothe holds on and takes a little breather. Teixeira looking to pass the guard. Teixeira drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boothe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Teixeira has Boothe in his guard.
Teixeira has an active guard here but Boothe has managed to pass into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boothe in particular looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Teixeira wants to get back to his feet.

Boothe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Boothe trying to mount his opponent but Teixeira defends it. Boothe performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Boothe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Boothe passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Teixeira! Boothe controlling from mount. Teixeira wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Teixeira tries to buck Boothe off but Boothe takes his back! Teixeira is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Teixeira is trying to get back to his feet but Boothe has full control of the position and if anything, Teixeira has just worked his way into a worse spot. A bit of a pause in the action here. Boothe controlling the positon. I really don't envy Teixeira right now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Teixeira trying to get back to his feet but Boothe is in full control for now. A momentary lapse in concentration from Boothe enables Teixeira to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boothe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Boothe pulls Teixeira in close to his closed guard and prevents Teixeira from doing any damage or advancing position. Teixeira looking to pass the guard. Boothe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Teixeira manages to get himself to full guard.

Thomas Boothe dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Teixeira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boothe's guard. Boothe controlling the position. Teixeira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Boothe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Teixeira, into his guard.
Teixeira looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Boothe has picked Teixeira up and slammed him! Teixeira can't keep hold of the triangle and Boothe manages to pass to side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boothe has knee on belly and moves into mount. Boothe controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boothe continues to stall. More hug and hope from Boothe. Boothe won't let Teixeira get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Boothe seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Teixeira is holding on tight.

Thomas Boothe decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
