Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Nunez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The R. Nunez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Souza catches Nunez right on the button with a cross.
Nunez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Souza throws a sloppy head kick
and Nunez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nunez.
Souza is trying to keep Nunez in close.
Nunez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nunez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Nunez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing reports that Souza has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Souza's corner calls for a 1-2. Souza obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Nunez takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Souza counters with a solid body kick.
Souza throws a head kick but Nunez moves out of range.
Souza turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nunez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Souza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Souza throws a hook but Nunez blocks it.
Souza plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nunez gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Souza circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Nunez drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Souza follows Nunez to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luiz Souza!
A relieved looking Luiz Souza thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
