Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ewen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny McCormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Atreyu-Ex's and oh's. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ewen Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny McCormick!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis closes the distance and clinches.
McCormick is trying to push Davis away but Davis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Davis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Davis tries for a takedown but McCormick manages to get underhooks.
A shot in the inside from Davis.
McCormick softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Davis swings wildly with an uppercut but McCormick uses good head movement to avoid it.
McCormick lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
McCormick tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Davis's elbow.
Davis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McCormick misses with some punches.
McCormick trying to control the position but instead, Davis has worked for underhooks and has pushed McCormick into the cage.
McCormick misses with some punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCormick misses with some punches.
McCormick misses with the head strike.
McCormick working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
McCormick swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McCormick prevents a body shot from Davis.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
McCormick misses with a hook from the clinch.

Davis misses with a punch to the body.
McCormick misses with a hook to the ribs.
McCormick lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
I was talking to Davis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Davis.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Davis.
McCormick lands an uppercut.
McCormick lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Davis lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
McCormick is trying to maintain the position but Davis is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Further stalling from Davis.
McCormick is trying to maintain the position but Davis is very close to passing his half guard.
Davis trying to mount his opponent but McCormick defends it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Davis is working hard here to advance position.

Davis stands and throws McCormick's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Davis controls the position from side control.
Davis landing strikes.
Davis in side control, throwing shots but McCormick defends.
Davis taking a breather here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCormick wants to control but Davis postures up.
Davis takes a little break here. McCormick wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Davis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McCormick is not content to let Davis control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ewen Davis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Davis tries to clinch up.
Davis misses with a low kick.
McCormick tries to counter by closing the distance.
Davis is looking to clinch but McCormick is avoiding it.
It seemed like McCormick was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Davis jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
McCormick throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McCormick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Davis is looking to take a break and control but McCormick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis controlling from side mount.
Davis wants to control but McCormick is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on McCormick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Davis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Davis staying calm.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Davis.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ewen Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis throws a sloppy body shot
and McCormick counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but McCormick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCormick connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
McCormick defending well as Davis loads up on a big left hand.
Good work by McCormick as he checks the leg kick.
McCormick connects with the punch.
Davis moves in looking to clinch but McCormick pushes him off.
Davis throws a front kick that sends McCormick stumbling back into the cage.
Davis fails to land the takedown.
Davis slips under a jab.
Davis misses with a takedown
letting McCormick counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ewen Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis throws a head kick that misses.
McCormick smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


Davis is rocked!
McCormick misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Davis.
Oh Davis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis moves out of range as McCormick strikes.
Davis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McCormick defends well and Davis ends up having to push McCormick into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Davis looks to clinch
and McCormick rattles Davis with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Davis tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. McCormick dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Davis stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kenny McCormick!
After winning the bout, Kenny McCormick thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
The defeated Ewen Davis had this to say: 'Ill be back and next time ill be ready.'.
