Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Albert Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arjen Lucassen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arjen Lucassen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucassen stuffs the takedown.

A slow jab from Lucassen misses its intended target.

Hoffman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lucassen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hoffman somewhat.

Lucassen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hoffman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hoffman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lucassen.

and Hoffman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lucassen won't be happy with that.
Hoffman swings around for an armbar but Lucassen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hoffman 's guard.

Hoffman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lucassen defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lucassen throws a hook to the side of Hoffman 's head but Hoffman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Hoffman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lucassen's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Hoffman 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hoffman 's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoffman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

I would just about give that final round to Arjen Lucassen.
