Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ante Pavlovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Rothwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robbie Rothwell! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rothwell goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Pavlovic keeps the fight on the outside. Rothwell tries to clinch and Pavlovic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rothwell won't be happy with that. Pavlovic throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Pavlovic scores with a couple of short elbows. We've been hearing that Pavlovic has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Pavlovic in side control, throwing shots but Rothwell defends. Rothwell wants to get back to his feet. Rothwell felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Pavlovic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rothwell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pavlovic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. Pavlovic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rothwell works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Pavlovic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rothwell wants to clinch. Robbie Rothwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pavlovic takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rothwell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pavlovic circles away quickly and effectively. Rothwell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pavlovic. Pavlovic circles away out of range and recomposes himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rothwell wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothwell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Rothwell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pavlovic, pushing him back against the cage. Rothwell dodges an elbow strike from Pavlovic.

Pavlovic pushes off an throws an elbow but Rothwell leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Rothwell is trying to break the clinch but Pavlovic has him pressed against the cage. The referee calls for Pavlovic to work.
Pavlovic goes for a takedown attempt but Rothwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Pavlovic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rothwell tries to avoid it but Pavlovic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rothwell to the ground. Rothwell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rothwell lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pavlovic on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pavlovic swats away the attempt to clinch by Rothwell. Rothwell tries to close the distance and clinch but Pavlovic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rothwell wants to clinch. Rothwell fails in his attempt to clinch. Rothwell tries to clinch up. Rothwell is breathing heavily. Pavlovic thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ante Pavlovic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rothwell tries to kick Pavlovic off but Pavlovic keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rothwell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pavlovic throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pavlovic sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rothwell defending well though. Pavlovic has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pavlovic lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Pavlovic putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pavlovic lands a heavy elbow.
Rothwell is rocked! Pavlovic tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rothwell is still in real trouble! Can Pavlovic finish him? Pavlovic with shots to the head and body - Rothwell looks very uncomfortable down there. Rothwell takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Pavlovic's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
