Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mee Vattalles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Solomon Wayne! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vattalles swats away the attempt to clinch by Wayne. A little feinted left hand from Vattalles on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Wayne thows a leg kick but Vattalles checks it and Vattalles counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Wayne! Wayne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vattalles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vattalles tries for a kimura. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Wayne's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Vattalles landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Vattalles is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Vattalles is trying to get an arm triangle but Wayne is defending well. Wayne is looking to reverse the position. Vattalles is working to tighten his grip on Wayne's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Wayne has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Vattalles is really squeezing tight and eventually Wayne passes out! Vattalles breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
