Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mario Curran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Curran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Wallace! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace checks a low kick from Curran. Wallace with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Wallace scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Curran moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Curran dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Curran with a nice cross. Curran throws a leg kick and Wallace counters with a straight right hand. Good shot there by Wallace. We've been hearing reports that Curran has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Wallace throws a quick inside leg kick. Curran uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wallace. We've been informed that Wallace has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Wallace lands a nice looking kick to the body. Curran takes a step back to recover. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Curran tries a low kick but Wallace avoids it. Wallace lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Wallace connects with a right hand. Curran shakes it off. Curran lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wallace circles away quickly and effectively. Curran moves out of range of the body kick. Curran pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A clash of legs there as Wallace blocks the low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace throws a chopping leg kick but Curran manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Curran throwing a counter right hand but Wallace manages to avoid it. Curran scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Wallace throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Curran blocks a leg kick. Wallace feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Curran's calf. A chopping leg kick lands by Curran. Wallace throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Curran counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Curran. A body shot lands from Wallace.
Wallace pushes Curran back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Curran working some nice short punches in the clinch. Wallace struggles to land a body shot inside as Curran controls his hands.
Curran misses with a short punch on the inside. Wallace cracks Curran with a nice body shot. Curran tries to throw a body punch but Wallace avoids it by throwing Curran back against the cage. Wallace lands a right hand that snaps the head of Curran backwards. Curran misses with a punch on the inside.
Wallace misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A short body shot lands from Curran as the two fighters clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Curran jumps guard but Wallace stands there with Curran around his waist. Curran gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Curran is stalling here.
Curran pulls guard. Curran can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wallace controls the pace. Let's hope that Wallace has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Curran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Curran working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Curran is tightening it up a little... Wallace has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Wallace reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Wallace taps out! Nice BJJ there by Curran!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mario Curran! A relieved looking Mario Curran thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
