Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sigge Strop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michalis Zampidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Zampidis's choice of entrance music: Roy Jones - Can't be touched. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sigge Strop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michalis Zampidis! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zampidis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Strop is fending him off so far but Zampidis persists. Nope, Strop circles away and we're back to standing. Strop misses with a takedown attempt and Zampidis counters with a straight right hand. Zampidis doesn't manage to clinch there - Strop circles away.
Zampidis tries to close the distance and clinch but Strop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Strop scores with a takedown into Zampidis's guard. Strop looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zampidis pulls Strop in close to prevent any damage. Strop is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Strop tries to free his leg and advance position but Zampidis is retaining full guard. Strop stopping the sweep attempt from Zampidis. Zampidis being controlled here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zampidis is trying to control the position but Strop postures up. Strop looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Zampidis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Strop gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Strop controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Strop preventing the sweep. Zampidis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Strop drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Strop jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Strop landing some decent shots from guard. Strop is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Strop is breathing heavily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Strop preventing the sweep. Zampidis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Zampidis is pulling down on Strop's head. It's preventing any offense from Strop, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strop wants to pass the guard but Zampidis is keeping the position. Strop sitting in guard, not really doing much. Zampidis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Strop passes easily into side control. Nice work. Strop in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Zampidis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Zampidis manages to get back to half guard. Zampidis throws some strikes from the bottom but Strop isn't bothered - he's working on a kimura... it looks tight... it is! Zampidis is tapping and screaming like a little girl! Ouch, that looks painful! Good win for Strop!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sigge Strop!
