Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Anthony Pettis and Jonas Putin. Putin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Anthony Pettis! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Jonas Putin! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pettis moves in looking to clinch but Putin pushes him off. Putin tries to counter by closing the distance. Pettis closes the distance and clinches. Putin tries to pull guard but Pettis forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Putin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pettis smiles and moves away.

Putin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Anthony Pettis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Putin. Pettis has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Putin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Putin is not content to let Pettis control the position. Putin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pettis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Putin is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Putin regains half guard. Pettis sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Putin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pettis is working away from the top position though. Pettis wants to pass to mount but Putin is defending the position. Pettis slows the pace down in half guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Pettis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Putin is controlling Pettis's position as best he can from this difficult position. Putin is refusing to be controlled, as Pettis sits in half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Pettis is figuring out what he wants to do next. Putin is trying to maintain the position but Pettis is very close to passing his half guard. Putin won't allow Pettis to pass to mount. We've been hearing good reports from Pettis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Putin is staying active underneath Pettis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pettis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Putin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Putin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Pettis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. This is a sustained period of stalling by Pettis. Putin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Putin. Putin pulls Pettis in close to his closed guard and prevents Pettis from doing any damage or advancing position. Pettis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Pettis trying to control but Putin is working from the bottom. Pettis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pettis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Putin is pulling down on Pettis's head to control his posture.

Putin tries to get to full guard but Pettis has control of the leg. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Putin is trying is best to control the position here.
