Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lafon Bornay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Cowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bornay's entrance music is House Boulevard - Set Me Free. A fine choice. Alex Cowell is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lafon Bornay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Cowell! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cowell wants to clinch and Bornay counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bornay prevents Cowell from improving his position. Bornay tries to stand and escape but Cowell is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cowell actively working from the bottom here. It looks like Bornay is going to stand back up.
Bornay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cowell throws the left hand but Bornay avoids the punch easily. A slow jab from Cowell misses its intended target. Cowell looks to clinch and Bornay counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bornay wants to stand but Cowell has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cowell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. That could mean trouble for Cowell! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bornay tries to stand but Cowell is controlling his head. Bornay decides to stand back up. Bornay circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cowell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bornay tries to avoid it but Cowell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bornay to the ground. Bornay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cowell is looking to clinch but Bornay is avoiding it.
Cowell closes the distance but Bornay moves to the side and Bornay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cowell won't be happy with that. Bornay wants to stand but Cowell is controlling his arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Cowell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bornay tries to stand but Cowell is controlling his head. Bornay decides to stand back up. Bornay keeps the fight on the outside. Bornay half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Bornay circles away from the clinch attempt and Bornay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cowell won't be happy with that. Bornay tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

We've been hearing that Bornay has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Cowell is still trying to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bornay trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cowell's guard. Cowell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bornay pinned against the cage. Bornay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cowell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bornay defends well and Cowell ends up having to push Bornay into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Cowell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cowell swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bornay has picked Cowell up - he's going for a ride! Bornay dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. It looks like Bornay is going to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cowell is looking for a sweep. Bornay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bornay seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Cowell is looking to control Bornay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cowell avoid being mounted?
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Cowell darts in trying to clinch and Bornay counters with a takedown into side control. Bornay wants to stand but Cowell is controlling his arm. Bornay decides to take the fight back to the feet. Cowell wants to clinch up but Bornay keeps it at a distance. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bornay rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

And that's the end of the fight! Lafon Bornay showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bornay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
