Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Living in America. John Brown told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Gold! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Brown! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gold scores with a crisp jab that stopped Brown in his tracks. Gold swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Brown changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. We've been told by Gold's head coaches at LOD London Top Tier that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gold shoots in looking for a takedown. Brown tries to sprawl out of it but Gold keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brown manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gold looks to land a body kick but Brown moved away. Brown fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gold to the ground. Brown is now in Gold's guard. Gold looking for a guillotine here but Brown defends easily.
Gold tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gold's head. Gold utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brown working his ground and pound in the gym. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown postures up and lands a big shot to Gold's brow. Gold looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gold not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brown throwing strikes but missing. Brown postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Brown wants to control from the top but Gold keeps moving. Brown throwing strikes from guard but Gold blocks nicely. Brown stands up over Gold, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gold keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. Brown might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gold haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gold uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brown.

Brown thows a left - swing and a miss! Gold throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Brown on the side of the head. Gold misses with a hook. Brown tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gold is looking to clinch but Brown is avoiding it.
Gold lands with a straight right. Brown didn't see that one coming. Gold ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Brown defending well as Gold loads up on a big left hand. Jack Gold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gold scores with a jab to the head.

Gold lands a head kick. Brown smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Brown feints and as Gold raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brown landing with the ground and pound. Brown stands and throws Gold's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown controls the position. Gold is not content to let Brown control the position. Gold tries to buck Brown off but Brown is having none of it. Brown working the head with strikes. Brown with the ground and pound but Gold regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Gold is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brown pulls his head out easily. Brown tries to pass to full mount but Gold defends it. Brown landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gold is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jack Gold will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Gold takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Brown moves into range and connects with a jab. Brown moves out of range of the strikes. Gold throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brown sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gold lands a nice looking body kick. Gold lands a jab to Brown's midsection. Brown's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gold connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brown scrambles back to his feet. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gold. Gold swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gold fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it. Gold fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gold gets caught napping as Brown dives in and scores a takedown. Gold manages to retain guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gold trying to control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Gold will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Gold rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Brown fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gold displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brown. Brown ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Brown shoots in for a takedown but Gold shows good takedown defense. Brown fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Brown changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gold looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gold tries to buck Brown off but Brown is having none of it. Brown happy to just control the position for now. Brown works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Gold has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brown is working away from the top position though. Brown blocks the strikes from Gold.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gold's head. Brown lands strikes from half guard. Brown trying to control the action but Gold is working from the bottom. Brown is trying to work for a kimura but Gold is defending well.
Gold is staying active underneath Brown, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jack Gold is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brown avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Brown drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gold defends it well. Gold slips a straight right by Brown. Brown swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown moves out of range of the body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Brown. Gold does a little dance to reset his feet. Gold throws a shot from downtown. Brown moves away and avoids it. Brown scores with a hook to the body. Gold takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Brown moves away from the strike by Gold. Gold misses with an uppercut. Brown saw that one coming. John Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gold looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Brown has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gold is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gold sitting and controlling from the half guard. Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Brown. I think Gold has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
