Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lowell Bockert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kadu Alves!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves forces Bockert back against the cage and clinches.
Bockert is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Alves is defending well.

Bockert wants the takedown. Alves is fighting it off but Bockert persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Alves's guard against the cage.

Alves pushes Bockert off and scrambles back to his feet.
Alves looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Alves lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bockert's sensitive parts.
Alves tries for a takedown but Bockert sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Alves gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bockert counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves can't do much from the bottom here.
Alves is trying to get back to half guard.
Bockert taking a break here but Alves is having none of it and regains half guard.

Bockert seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bockert thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bockert slips a nice elbow through Alves's hands, connecting with Alves's forehead.
Bockert is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Alves looks winded!
Bockert throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bockert thows a huge punch but Alves dodges it nicely.
Bockert sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Alves defending well though.

Alves wants to control but Bockert is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Bockert uses his free foot to push down on Alves's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alves.
The referee warns Alves that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bockert is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Bockert connects with a bit shot that sees Alves covering up! More strikes from Bockert and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Bockert is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lowell Bockert!
In his post fight interview, Lowell Bockert started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
