Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikel Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Trenchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikel Roman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Trenchard! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trenchard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Roman is looking for a counter combo. Trenchard fails with the takedown. Roman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trenchard. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Trenchard is defended easily by Roman. Mikel Roman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Trenchard. Trenchard lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roman backs up against the cage.
It looks like Mikel Roman has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Trenchard lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Trenchard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Roman counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Roman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trenchard misses with a takedown attempt and Roman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Roman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trenchard tries to avoid it but Roman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trenchard to the ground. Trenchard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Trenchard fails to land with a series of punches.
Roman stuffs the takedown attempt from Trenchard. Trenchard gets slowly back to his feet. Trenchard looks winded! Trenchard fails with the takedown and Roman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Roman blocks the body kick.
Trenchard with a poor takedown and Roman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Roman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trenchard's guard. Trenchard manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice takedown defense from Trenchard. No joy for Roman on that attempt. Trenchard has managed to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trenchard stalling in the clinch but Roman improves position. Roman has Trenchard pressed against the cage, preventing Trenchard from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Trenchard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Trenchard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roman is fending him off so far but Trenchard persists. Nope, Roman circles away and we're back to standing. Jon Trenchard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trenchard to the mat! Trenchard manages to get full guard. Roman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Roman chips away with some ground and pound. Roman throws a big right hand that misses. Roman with a flurry of punches that miss. Roman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Trenchard's head. Roman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trenchard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roman has managed to get both his arms back between Trenchard's legs - danger averted. Roman connects with a couple of short punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roman throws a big right hand that misses. Trenchard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Trenchard wants to control the position but Roman says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Roman lands strikes from half guard. Trenchard is looking for a sweep. Roman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Trenchard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roman pulls his head out easily. Roman lands strikes from half guard. Roman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Roman slips a nice elbow through Trenchard's hands, connecting with Trenchard's forehead. Trenchard has hold of Roman's hands but Roman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Roman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Trenchard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roman is controlling him. Roman lands a couple of decent looking shots. Trenchard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Trenchard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Roman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Roman postures up in Trenchard's guard and throws a big left but Trenchard blocks it. Roman works over Trenchard with some ground and pound from guard. Trenchard wriggles free and stands up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikel Roman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mikel Roman's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Trenchard throws a leg kick and Roman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Trenchard tries to bum rush Roman with a series of wild strikes but Roman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Roman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Trenchard manages to circle out of the way. Trenchard throws out a leg kick but Roman moves out of range and Trenchard only half commits. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Roman crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Trenchard - the referee stops the clock and Roman gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Trenchard. Roman manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Trenchard clinches up with Roman and pushes him back against the cage. Trenchard lands an elbow inside that Roman shrugs off. Trenchard manages to break the clinch.
Trenchard lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Trenchard closes the distance and clinches. Roman blocks an elbow strike from Trenchard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Trenchard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Roman avoids a kick to the body.
Trenchard looks for a takedown but Roman sprawls well. Roman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Trenchard sprawls and moves away. Trenchard is breathing heavily. Roman blocks the body kick.

Roman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Trenchard just stands there and leans against the cage. Roman blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Trenchard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roman throws a body punch but Trenchard moves out of range. Jon Trenchard seems to be getting the better of the standup. Trenchard tries a head kick but it misses.
Roman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Roman closes the distance and clinches. Trenchard lands an elbow just above Roman 's eye. A nice glancing elbow lands by Trenchard. Trenchard scores a nice knee to the body.
Trenchard is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Roman is defending well for now. Trenchard lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trenchard taking a breather. Trenchard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Trenchard has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Trenchard lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Trenchard takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Roman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Trenchard down.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trenchard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Roman connects with a nice short shot to Trenchard's temple. Roman winds up and cracks Trenchard with a swinging punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Trenchard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mikel Roman's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fighters are battling for position here. Trenchard manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Roman throws a big right hand that misses. Trenchard trying to keep a closed guard but Roman is proving a slippery customer.
Trenchard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Trenchard looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Roman passes into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Roman scoring with punches from side control.
