Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Leo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teddy Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Leo! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Salazar has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Leo is on him like a limpet, forcing Salazar back against the cage. Salazar slowing the pace effectively. Leo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Salazar after a bit of a struggle. Leo is trying to pull guard but Salazar has him pressed against the cage. Leo tries for a takedown but Salazar manages to get underhooks.
Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Leo. Leo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Salazar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Salazar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Leo tries for a takedown but Salazar manages to get underhooks.
Salazar breaks the clinch.
Bruce Leo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Salazar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Salazar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Leo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Salazar presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salazar throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Leo is desperately trying to improve his position but Salazar has a good base and remains in mount. Salazar fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Leo holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Salazar tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Leo wants to hold on but Salazar pushes him away. Salazar misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar with a couple of short strikes. Leo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Leo tries to lock up and control but Salazar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Leo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Salazar throwing strikes here but Leo is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Leo tries to hold on but Salazar postures up. Leo regains half guard. Salazar missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Leo gets full guard. Leo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leo is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salazar keeping full guard, as Leo tries to pass. Leo wants to control from the top but Salazar keeps moving. Leo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salazar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Leo postures up in Salazar's guard and throws a big left but Salazar blocks it. Leo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Leo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Salazar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Salazar has escaped and now he's on top! Salazar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Leo wants to sweep here but Salazar controlling him for the moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Leo trying to control the position here. Leo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salazar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Salazar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Salazar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar preventing the sweep. Salazar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Salazar won't allow Leo to sweep him here. Salazar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Leo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Leo looking for a sweep. Not yet Leo, not yet. Salazar with a flurry of punches that miss. Leo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Leo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Leo is controlling Salazar's posture. Salazar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Leo wants to sweep but no luck. Salazar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Leo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Salazar is looking to work some ground and pound but Leo has wrist control. Leo wants to sweep but no luck. Leo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Salazar's guard. Leo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salazar is keeping the position for now. Leo throwing strikes from guard but Salazar blocks nicely. Salazar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Leo wants to control from the top but Salazar keeps moving. Leo is stalling in the full guard. Salazar keeping moving, preventing Leo from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Teddy Salazar dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Leo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Salazar quickly recovers to half guard. Leo throwing shots but Salazar is blocking nicely. Salazar trying to hold on to Leo's head to control him but Leo postures up.
Leo controlling the action here. Leo is trying to control the action in half guard but Salazar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Leo wants to work for an arm triangle but Salazar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Leo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Salazar defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leo controlling the action here. Teddy Salazar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leo is keen to just control but Salazar is a slippery customer. Leo is working for a kimura but Salazar is defending it quite comfortably.
Leo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Leo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Salazar to regain full guard. Leo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Leo trying to control the position from guard on top but Salazar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salazar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Salazar is trying to keep Leo in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Salazar throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Leo content to stall in guard here. Leo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salazar is keeping the position for now. Salazar is trying to keep Leo in close.
Leo with a flurry of punches that miss. Leo throws a strike but Salazar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Leo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Leo has his hands on Salazar's head, controlling the position. Leo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salazar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leo can do anything to dispel that myth. Leo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leo looking for a sweep. Not yet Leo, not yet. Leo trying to control the position here. Salazar postures up.
Leo wants to sweep but no luck. Leo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Leo wants to get back to full guard but Salazar has passed into side control. Leo holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Leo gets back to half guard. Leo tries to get to full guard but Salazar has control of the leg. Leo is pressing down on Salazar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Leo wants to control but Salazar passes easily into half guard.
Leo desperately trying to maintain half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salazar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Leo is looking for a sweep. Salazar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Leo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Leo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Salazar to counter with a crisp jab. Leo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salazar pinned against the cage. Salazar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Salazar scores with a nice head shot. Bruce Leo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Leo with a poor takedown and Leo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Leo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leo misses with a takedown attempt and Salazar counters with a big right hand! Oh Leo is in trouble here! Salazar follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
