Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mchale Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salama dives in and grabs Garcia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes down on Salama's head and hops out.
Garcia shapes to counter with a head kick.
Salama definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nice sprawl there from Garcia as Salama shoots in.

Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into Salama's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Salama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Garcia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Salama has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Garcia is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Salama.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salama is looking for a sweep.
Salama is working hard here to advance position.

Garcia landing a few strikes.
Salama tries to improve position but can't.
Salama is working to avoid the ground and pound but Garcia connects with a decent elbow.
Salama tries to buck Garcia off but Garcia is having none of it.

Garcia has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Salama shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Salama is breathing heavily.

Salama is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garcia is just riding it out for now. Salama eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Salama is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Garcia defends it well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Garcia is looking to control Salama's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garcia avoid being mounted?
Garcia is pressing down on Salama's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Garcia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Salama looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Salama is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garcia pulls his head out easily.

Garcia is keen to just control but Salama is a slippery customer.

Salama looking for a kimura from the bottom but Garcia passes into side control!
Salama tries to bench press Garcia off him but Garcia keeps the position.
Garcia connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Salama some visible discomfort.
Salama is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Garcia decides to stand up, so the ref orders Salama to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Salama looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Garcia!
Garcia wants to control but Salama postures up.

Salama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Garcia, who protects the arm well.
Salama tries to advance position but instead Garcia slips a leg back in to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Salama blocks the strikes from Garcia.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mchale Garcia dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Garcia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Salama was covering up waiting for the punch and Garcia finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Salama has his foot on Garcia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garcia works his way back into a safe position though.
Mchale Garcia has got the better of the ground game so far.
Garcia trying to control but Salama is working from the bottom.

Salama looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Salama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Salama looking for a triangle here. Garcia is fighting it but it looks tight! Salama pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Garcia is tapping out - this one is all over!
