Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Bobeth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artem Suminov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Bobeth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Artem Suminov! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suminov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bobeth to the ground. Suminov is now in Bobeth's guard. Suminov looking to pass the guard. Bobeth wants to stand up but Suminov is controlling him. Bobeth trying to keep a closed guard but Suminov is proving a slippery customer.
Suminov wants to control from the top but Bobeth keeps moving. Suminov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bobeth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bobeth striking off his back but it's not causing Suminov any problems. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Suminov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Suminov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bobeth trying to keep a closed guard but Suminov is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suminov is fighting to break Bobeth's control of his arms but Bobeth is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Suminov trying to control the position from guard on top but Bobeth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Suminov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bobeth stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The fight stays on the outside here - Bobeth looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Suminov shoots in but Bobeth avoids the takedown attempt easily. Suminov throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bobeth counters with a left and a right that stings Suminov.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suminov fails with a takedown attempt. Bobeth tries to clinch up. Suminov has his takedown stuffed and Bobeth counters with a lovely shot to the body. Michael Bobeth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artem Suminov. Suminov clinches up against the cage. Bobeth is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Suminov is defending well for now. Suminov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Suminov is working for takedown but Bobeth is calmly controlling the position for now. Suminov goes for a takedown attempt but Bobeth pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Suminov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bobeth connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suminov shoots for a double leg takedown but Bobeth sprawls well. He's pushed Suminov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Suminov fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bobeth is looking for a counter combo. Suminov shoots for a takedown but Bobeth saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bobeth feinted with a counter takedown. Suminov looks winded! Bobeth doesn't succeed with the takedown and Suminov counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bobeth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Suminov's guard. Bobeth in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Suminov trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bobeth forces his way into half guard. Bobeth controlling the action here. Bobeth is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Suminov has managed to free his arm - good work. Bobeth is looking to advance position but Suminov won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Bobeth dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Suminov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Suminov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bobeth's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bobeth has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Suminov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Bobeth tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bobeth misses with a short punch on the inside. Suminov is trying to break the clinch but Bobeth is controlling him. Suminov has hold of one of Bobeth's legs. Bobeth is fighting the takedown attempt but Suminov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Bobeth is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Suminov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Suminov dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Suminov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Suminov manages to end up in side control. Bobeth explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Bobeth tries to clinch up but Suminov circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suminov dives in and grabs Bobeth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bobeth pushes down on Suminov's head and hops out. Suminov feints and as Bobeth raises his hands in defense, Suminov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bobeth pushes Suminov off and scrambles back to his feet.
Bobeth clinches up against the cage. Suminov tries to land knees in the clinch but Bobeth avoids the damage to the body. Bobeth pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Bobeth prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bobeth lands a damaging elbow. Bobeth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Suminov can do to turn this around? Suminov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bobeth prevents it.

Bobeth has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Suminov is on him like a limpet, forcing Bobeth back against the cage. Suminov is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bobeth decides to pull guard. Suminov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Bobeth pulls Suminov in close to prevent any damage. Suminov is stalling in the full guard. Bobeth is trying to control the position but Suminov postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bobeth throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Suminov lands with a nice body punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bobeth gets caught flat footed, as Suminov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bobeth has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Suminov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Suminov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bobeth is fighting off a takedown attempt but Suminov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bobeth to the mat. Bobeth regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Suminov looking to pass the guard. Bobeth looking to control.

Bobeth shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Suminov as he jumps to the side. Bobeth gets caught flat footed, as Suminov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bobeth has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Suminov has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Suminov gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Bobeth regains guard.

Bobeth keeping full guard, as Suminov tries to pass. Suminov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bobeth is trying to keep Suminov in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suminov distracts Bobeth with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Artem Suminov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Bobeth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Suminov works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Bobeth. Well Bobeth has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
