Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Corn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenneth Cross! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corn avoids the body shot from Cross.
Corn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Corn swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Left hook, right uppercut from Corn. Corn misses the shot to the body. Cross tries to counter by closing the distance. Corn throws out a loose jab but Cross uses good head movement to avoid it. Cross misses with a body shot.
Corn scores with a punch to the head. Cross tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Corn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Corn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A shot to the liver by Corn. Beautiful body shot. Corn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Corn lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Kenneth Cross has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Corn lands with a cross. Cross closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Corn is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Corn blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Corn wants to get back to striking at distance but Cross won't allow it.
A head punch on the inside from Cross fails to land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corn is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Cross lands a body shot in the clinch.
A short right from Corn on the inside. Cross makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Cross misses with a hook to the ribs.
Corn wants to break the clinch but can't.
Corn wants to get back to striking at distance but Cross won't allow it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Corn. Corn scores with a shot to the side of Cross's head.
Cross is rocked! Corn lands a body punch. Cross is still on wobbly legs! Can Corn finish him? Cross misses with some punches.
Corn breaks from the clinch.
Cross gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Corn manages to break the clinch.
Cross tries to get into range but Corn steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Cross! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Corn scores the big KO victory!
