Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ken Shiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Underhill!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Underhill lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Ken Shiro has been cut.
Underhill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shiro's waist but Shiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Underhill off to one side.

Shiro gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Shiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Underhill tries for a takedown but Shiro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ken Shiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Underhill.

Shiro has clasped his hands together around Underhill's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Shiro's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Underhill tries to reverse the position but Shiro maintains control.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Shiro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Underhill.

Shiro looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Underhill kicks Shiro off and gets back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shiro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Shiro lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Shiro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ken Shiro just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Shiro shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shiro showed some decent athleticism there.
Underhill is looking to improve his position.
Underhill is in trouble now - Shiro has advanced to mount!

Underhill squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Shiro breaks from Underhill's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Shiro has control of Underhill's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Underhill regains control of the situation pretty easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Underhill throws a sloppy head kick

and Shiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Underhill's guard.
Ken Shiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Underhill wants to stand up but Shiro is controlling him.
Shiro seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Shiro won't allow Underhill to get back to his feet.
Shiro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Shiro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Underhill is working an open guard so Shiro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Shiro throws a one two combo.
Shiro lands with a nice combination. Underhill backs away looking to recover.
Shiro lands a head kick. Underhill smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Shiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Shiro throws a head kick that half lands.

Shiro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Underhill looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Underhill is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Underhill wants to control but Shiro postures up.
Underhill is looking to reverse the position.

Shiro stands up and we're back to a striking position.
No luck for Shiro with that takedown attempt.

Underhill tries to lock up and control but Shiro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Underhill wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Ken Shiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shiro seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Underhill for as long as he can get away with.

Ken Shiro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shiro has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
