Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wilson Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko slips a jab and a cross from Reyes.
Emelianenko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes.
Reyes lands with a hook. Emelianenko tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Ivan Emelianenko has been cut.
Wilson Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reyes misses with a few strikes there.

Reyes gets caught napping as Emelianenko dives in and scores a takedown. Reyes manages to retain guard.

Emelianenko decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reyes defends it nicely.
We've been informed that Reyes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Emelianenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reyes misses with a two punch combination.
A quick step to the side and Emelianenko tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Emelianenko shoots in and gets a takedown into Reyes's guard.
Emelianenko won't allow Reyes to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Emelianenko stands and throws Reyes's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Emelianenko stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nice takedown defense from Reyes. No joy for Emelianenko on that attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Reyes! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Reyes drops Emelianenko with a left and a right! Oh, Emelianenko is hurt - Reyes dives into side control looking to finish!
Emelianenko is trying to control Reyes's posture but Reyes avoids it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Emelianenko manages to get back to half guard.
Reyes looks to land a strike but Emelianenko avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Reyes wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.
Emelianenko is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reyes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Emelianenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reyes has managed to get both his arms back between Emelianenko's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Emelianenko is breathing heavily.
Reyes trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reyes working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Reyes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Emelianenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reyes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Emelianenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Reyes throws a strike but Emelianenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Reyes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Emelianenko pushes down on Reyes's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reyes is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Reyes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Emelianenko prevents Reyes from standing back up.
Emelianenko is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Emelianenko stands up from half guard.

Emelianenko scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Emelianenko not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Reyes is trying to stand up here but Emelianenko is controlling him well.
Emelianenko thows a huge punch but Reyes dodges it nicely.
Reyes pushes Emelianenko off looking to stand but Emelianenko dives back in and keeps control.
Emelianenko throwing shots but Reyes is blocking nicely.
Emelianenko works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson Reyes dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ivan Emelianenko's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Emelianenko gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Reyes.
Reyes lands a big right hook! Emelianenko looks hurt but is still standing! Reyes lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Emelianenko falls down and Reyes dives in with a huge hammer fist! Emelianenko's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Reyes runs up the ropes to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Wilson Reyes!
